Water Water Everywhere

I live in a very dry valley.  You might even call it desert conditions.  The humidity gets over 20%, and people start complaining.  Often storms go around us due to the mountains surrounding us.  Last Friday was the exception.

This time the system got trapped in the valley, and we received half the year's average rainfall in a few hours. And, this is after a brutally dry summer.  Can we say "flash flood warnings"?  Naturally, debris covered the drains, and the result was ...

This is an underpass, and in case you're wondering that clearance sign says 12 feet, 2 inches. That's a lot of water.

Luckily, once the drains were cleared, the flood water receded almost as fast as it came.  Well, it may have taken them a bit longer with this underpass. lol

What's the line from the song?  "It never rains, but it pours."

And credit where credit's due ... This post was inspired by one by my friend Dianne at Forks Off the Moment.
